Eric Twiname Championships Rutland Sailing Club Information

Arrival & Site instructions

For anyone arriving on Friday, RIB’s are able to be launched until 8pm and staff will be on site to assist with this. Please turn right once through the main entrance gate and drive past the marquee to the workshop area. The grounds will be open until 11pm for people wishing to drop boats off. The bar will also be open until 11pm for those requiring liquid refreshment or collection of accommodation room keys. A site plan attached shows where your zone/class parking area is located.

Please help by moving all road trailers to the designated trailer parking area at the back of the main dinghy park area to the left of the main club entrance.

All visitors cars are to park in the field opposite the club over the course of the weekend so if you are staying on site (in the club accommodation/campsite etc) once you have dropped your boats of on Friday please move cars to the car park as soon as possible. If anyone leaves their car in the club site on Friday evening please ensure that it is removed before 7.30am on Saturday morning.

There will be a team of marshals managing the traffic and parking so please follow their instructions and remove cars from the site as soon as possible. Staff will be on site to assist with RIB launching on Saturday morning.  Cars will be allowed back inside the site on Sunday afternoon at the end of the event to collect trailers etc.  Please do follow the direction of the marshals’ as they won’t be letting cars back into the site until they need to.

Additional toilet facilities have been placed in the dinghy park to the left hand side of the main gate, this should save some walking for people based at that end of the site.

Camping

The lease we have with our landlords doesn’t allow any overnight stays, camping or motor homing within the club grounds. The camp site opposite the club is owned by a local farmer which will take motor homes, caravans and tents.   Spaces must be booked in advance and are on a first come first served basis.  To book contact the farmer via his website www.rutlandwatercampsite.co.uk .  The campsite will fill up so please don’t expect to just turn up and get a slot.  If you can’t be accommodated in the camp site you will need to find an alternative site; details of other local sites can be found on our website www.rutlandsc.co.uk .  The clubs toilet facilities will be open until the bar closes at night; however we do not leave them unlocked overnight. Please be aware of this.

Dogs

It is a rule of the club that no dogs are allowed on site.

Food

Catering from the servery on the first floor of the clubhouse will be available all weekend. Breakfast will be available from 8am on Saturday and Sunday. Lunch is available every day and dinner available on Friday and Saturday evenings. Packed lunches for sailors can be purchased from the servery if needed.

Bar

The club bar will be open from 5pm until 11pm on Friday, from 12 noon until 11pm on Saturday and from 12 noon until 5.00pm on Sunday.

The clubhouse

Please use the outside entrances to the changing rooms and the balcony steps to the first floor, particularly when wet. As you will appreciate the site will be very busy over the weekend with people, cars and boats so we would very much appreciate your cooperation in helping us avoid any accidents by not skateboarding, roller blading or cycling within the club grounds.

We hope you have a fantastic weekend at Rutland, if you need any information or help before or during your visit please do contact one of the office staff who will be pleased to help you. The club office is located just inside the main entrance to the club house.

Have a great weekend and good sailing!
